Arsenal and Tottenham have reportedly both given up on signing Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho.
The Whites youngster is approaching the end of his contract at Craven Cottage and has been linked with a number of clubs.
He was close to joining Liverpool in the final stages of the January transfer window but the deal did not go through before the deadline.
That has led to speculation that another club could pip Liverpool to sign the 19-year-old in the summer.
However, according to the Daily Star, Manchester United are rivals to Liverpool in the battle to sign Carvalho but Spurs and Arsenal have dropped out.
AC Milan have also been tipped to move for the Portuguese, who has rejected Fulham’s offers of a new deal.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the Merseyside club are still keen to sign Carvalho.
Klopp said at a recent press conference: “We are still interested, it would be crazy if not. But at the moment it’s not in our hands.”
Meanwhile, Fulham boss Marco Silva has insisted that the player is fully committed to helping the west London club win promotion back to the Premier League.
“Fabio is really happy,” Silva told West London Sport.
“I am one hundred per cent sure that Fabio will give his best to the club like he has been doing so far this season.”
