Thiago Silva is reportedly set to sign a one-year contract extension at Chelsea.
The veteran defender was signed last summer on a one-year deal with the option of a further year.
And the Daily Express say Chelsea are set to take up that option and keep Silva at Stamford Bridge for at least another season.
There has been speculation over the futures of three key Chelsea defenders, with reports suggesting the club are keen for Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to also sign new deals.
Speaking about the issue at a recent press conference, Blues boss Thomas Tuchel said: “Of course we know – everybody knows – about the situation of those three players. All three players perform on a super-high level, very reliable, and this is the most important thing.
“We’ll take the decisions and then communicate them when they are taken. This is not a secret and it’s obvious that all three have been outstanding.
“Andreas and Toni have done a fantastic job and we have to keep on going like this and the rest will be resolved.”
The Athletic has reported that Rudiger is reluctant to hold contract talks until after the Germany international’s involvement in this summer’s European Championships.
