Matt Taylor believes his former club West Ham should sign Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer.
Mitrovic has been tipped to move on following Fulham’s relegation from the Premier League and West Ham are among the clubs to have been linked with him.
Taylor, speaking exclusively to 888sport, said: “I think Mitrovic has done extremely well. Is he someone who West Ham could be in the market for? I think so. He’s a striker who has proven his worth for a team that has struggled this season.
“Location wise he is already based in London. Can they get him? I don’t know but the clubs will have done their work now for the past six months determining who is available and who fits into the parameters of their wage structure.
“If you’re looking for someone to step into the void that Andy Carroll has left, Mitrovic seems like a really good fit for me.”
And Taylor, who made 76 league appearances during a three-year spell with the Hammers, believes a European place should be their aim next season.
“They’ve got the backing from the owners and have the money to bring in the best players and they finished this season really positively,” he said.
“So next season they should be pushing for the top six to eight. If Wolves were so phenomenal this season why shouldn’t West Ham have a real good go next year? It would be great to see.”
