The Sun say West Ham are only willing to offer Jack Wilshere a one-year contract, putting his potential move to east London in doubt.
The out-of-contract Wilshere is set to leave Arsenal this summer and West Ham have been tipped to sign him.
But The Sun say the Hammers have doubts about his fitness and are therefore reluctant to offer him a long-term deal.
It is claimed that this could pave the way for Everton to sign Wilshere – Sunday newspaper reports claimed their new manager Marco Silva is keen to snap up the England international.
Crystal Palace have also been linked with Wilshere, as have Italian side Juventus.
He was offered a new contract by Arsenal but on reduced wages, and reports have suggested he was told by new Gunners boss Unai Emery that he could be a fringe player were he to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror have picked up on reports claiming that Emery has made a personal call to Sevilla’s Argentine midfielder Ever Banega in an attempt to convince the 29-year-old to join the Gunners.
Estadio Deportivo claimed Emery told Banega he is keen for him to move to north London.
