Marko Arnautovic scored twice, Jack Wilshere made his debut and Mark Noble had a penalty saved as West Ham drew 2-2 in an eventful game against Preston.

Arnautovic gave the Hammers an early lead in the pre-season friendly at Deepdale, where Wilshere played the first half.

Tom Clarke equalised before Arnautovic struck again just before half-time – his third goal in two games.

Preston levelled again in the second half, however, with Billy Bodin netting just after Noble had a penalty saved by keeper Chris Maxwell.

Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha scored for Crystal Palace in a 3-1 win at Oxford United, where Jeffrey Schlupp and Sullay Kaikai got the Eagles’ other goals.

Emiliano Marcondes’ late goal gave Brentford a 3-2 win at Shrewsbury, who had equalised after Marcus Forss’ early opener and an own goal by Aristote Nsiala.

Millwall won 2-0 at Cambridge United with goals from Tom Elliott and Jake Cooper.

Ryan Manning scored a late equaliser for QPR in Germany, where new signing Toni Leistner also netted, as they came back from two down to draw 2-2  with Hoffenheim.

AFC Wimbledon beat Premier League side Brighton 2-1. Joe Pigott and new signing Mitch Pinnock scored for the Dons.

And goals from Joe Aribo and Karlan Ahearne-Grant gave Charlton a 2-0 win at Crawley.
