Jeremy Toljan’s agent Ersin Akan says Tottenham have not made contact about signing the Hoffenheim right-back.
It comes after reports that Spurs are considering a move for the 22-year-old after talks stalled with Porto over full-back Ricardo Pereira apparently stalled.
Pereira is the club’s first choice to replace Kyle Walker, who was recently sold to Manchester City.
“It is always a pleasure to read big clubs like Tottenham are interested in Jeremy,” Akan told Sky Sports News.
“Spurs are a fantastic club with an excellent progression in the last years, but we didn’t speak to the responsible persons and, for the moment, everything is a rumour.”
Meanwhile, Hoffenheim’s director of football Alex Rosen has indicated that a deal could happen if Spurs decide to pursue the player.
Rosen believes Toljan, who has been linked with a number of clubs, is likely to be attracted to a move to north London if the chance arises.
Rosen has been quoted by Germany newspaper Bild as saying: “If Tottenham comes and offers to triple your salary, then you can’t say too many negative things: London is an unattractive city or Tottenham a bad club.
“This is all very positive – and then young people think about it.”
