Chelsea hierarchy discussing Sarri’s future

The Chelsea hierarchy are discussing the future of Maurizio Sarri, according to Sky Sports News.

Head coach Sarri is under serious pressure following some dismal results, particularly away from home.

Thrashed 6-0 at Manchester City and 4-0 at Bournemouth, the Blues’ troubled season took another turn for the worse when they were beaten 2-0 at Everton on Sunday.

It left them sixth in the Premier League and in danger of missing out on the top four again.

And Sky’s Kaveh Solhekol says talks have been held over whether to keep Sarri on.

“A lot of people at Chelsea are very disappointed with the way the team played at Everton,” said Solhekol.

“Now, discussions have been held about the future of Maurizio Sarri – whether he is the right man to take the club forward. Talks have been held about his future.”

Sarri has faced criticism from fans in light of poor results and questionable decision-making, such as deploying Eden Hazard as a striker and N’Golo Kante in an attacking midfield role, as well as overlooking Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi has been promoted to the senior England squad from the Under-21s after Manchester United’s Luke Shaw became the fourth player to withdraw due to injury.
