Arsenal duo Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal have been passed fit after recovering from minor injuries.
The Gunners make four changes, with Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Matteo Guendouzi and Alex Iwobi all starting. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is only on the bench.
Newcastle are without the suspended Fabian Schar but Jamaal Lascelles returns after a knee problem.
