The Daily Mirror say West Ham have given Sporting Lisbon an ultimatum over midfielder William Carvalho.
The Hammers are said to have offered £30m plus £5m in add-ons but the Portuguese club have reportedly upped the asking price to £40m.
The Mirror say that has left the Hammers furious and that they have told Sporting to accept their offer or there will be no deal.
The Mirror also say Slaven Bilic has been given four matches to save his job as West Ham manager.
Sam Alladyce is being considered for a shock return as Crystal Palace manager, again according to the Mirror.
And the Mirror claim Chelsea are trying to rush through a £40m deal for Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to fend off Liverpool.
The Mirror say Chelsea want to move quickly because “they fear Liverpool in the background.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Express declare that Chelsea are closing in on a “£75m double early transfer deadline day swoop”, paying £35m for Oxlade-Chamberlain and £40m for Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
The Express also reports that Divock Origi’s father Mike has suggested that the Liverpool forward could join Tottenham.
He is quoted as saying “Divock has to leave Liverpool to get more playing time Tottenham is a possibility, but there is also interest from France and Germany.”
