West Ham duo return to action

Sam Byram and Reece Oxford returned to action for West Ham’s development side in a match against Norwich on Monday evening.

The hosts won 2-1 at Dagenham, where Norwich’s former West Ham winger Matt Jarvis also returned to action following injury.

The Hammers’ goals were scored by Ashley Fletcher and Marcus Browne.

Meanwhile, new signing Jake Forster-Caskey helped Charlton’s Under-23s beat Cardiff City 3-0 earlier on Monday.

Forster-Caskey, signed last week on a permanent deal from Brighton, created the second goal with a corner, which was headed in by Karlan Ahearne-Grant with 15 minutes to play.

Ahearne-Grant had given the Addicks the lead in the first half and the win was wrapped up by Brandon Hanlan late on.

Teenagers Noor Husin and Andre Coker were both on target as Crystal Palace Under-23s defeated their Millwall counterparts 2-0.

Following a goalless first half, the Eagles went in front shortly after the break.

Ryan King-Elliott set up the chance with a strong run and his pull back found Husin inside the box, who beat ex-Palace man Tom King in the Millwall goal.

Palace doubled their lead just before the hour mark through a fine individual goal from Coker.

The 19-year-old collected a loose ball, beat a defender and then clipped an effort over goalkeeper King.

Palace’s line-up once again included Nikola Tavares, the former Brentford youngster who has been offered a professional deal by the Eagles having spent much of the season there on a non-contract basis.

Millwall gave game time to Calum Butcher, Jimmy Abdou and Harry Smith, who were all on the bench for the first-team’s FA Cup win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

QPR gave a trial to Stoke City defender Kosovar Sadiki as their Under-23s were beaten 3-1 by Bristol City.

Midfielder Danny Rowe, who has signed from Leicester, and first-team striker Nasser El Khayati were in the Rangers side, with Brandon Adams scoring their goal from the penalty spot.
