Paper round-up: West Ham considering loan move for Everton man

West Ham are considering a loan move for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to the Daily Mail.

McCarthy is out of favour at Goodison Park and could move on this month in order to play first-team football.

He has made 132 appearances for the Merseyside club and scored six goals in all competitions,

The Mail also say West Ham remain in talks with Besiktas over a £6.5m deal for former Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel.

Also according to the Mail, Crystal Palace will consider loan options for Nya Kirby this month amid interest from Charlton and Blackpool.

Meanwhile, Fulham are close to clinching the signing of Gary Cahill, The Sun reports.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in Chelsea defender Cahill, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge.

There is speculation that Tammy Abraham’s season-long loan at Aston Villa will be terminated and that Chelsea will send him on loan to a Premier League club for the second half of the season.

The Sun say Abraham wants Chelsea to recall him amid apparent interest from a number of top-flight clubs.

The Mail say Wolves are leading a chase to snap up the England international ahead of Huddersfield and Burnley.

The Mail also reports that Monaco are set to complete the signing of Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea.
