Paper round-up: Hammers reportedly set to sign Danish defender

West Ham are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign Danish centre-back Frederik Alves Ibsen.

The Daily Mail say Silkeborg, 20, is set to join the Hammers for £1.2m in January.

Leeds have also been linked with Alves but it appears he is on his way to London.

The Mail say Alves’ agent has been discussing a deal and that an agreement is close.

The newspaper also suggest Alves has been targeted after the Hammers looked elsewhere after Burnley made it clear they would not part with James Tarkowski.

Meanwhile, William Saliba is unhappy at Arsenal and considering his future at the club, the Daily Star reports.

Arsenal and Chelsea are among Premier League clubs being linked with Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze.

The 21-year-old Nigeria international has been touted for a move to England for some time and it is claimed that a host of clubs are keen on him.

The Sun have picked up on a story by 90min.com claiming that Chelsea and Manchester United have joined Arsenal in a race to sign Chukwueze.

And Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has declined the chance to sign Paulo Dybala, the Daily Express reports.

Dybala has been linked with a January move to Stamford Bridge from Juventus.
