Paper round-up: West Ham and Southampton chasing deal for Whites star

West Ham have been joined by Southampton in a battle to sign Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, the Daily Express claim.

Mitrovic has been tipped to leave Craven Cottage this summer following the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League.

The Express say Southampton are preparing a £30m bid but face competition from the Hammers as well as clubs in China.

Meanwhile, The Scottish Sun say Fulham are competing with Celtic and Aston Villa for the signing of striker Gary Hooper, who has been released by Sheffield Wednesday.

The Daily Mail say caretaker boss Scott Parker is edging towards being given the Fulham manager’s job.

Tottenham are targeting Freiburg defender Robin Koch, according to the Mail.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery wants to offload five senior players this summer, The Sun reports.

The newspaper say Emery is keen to revamp the squad, with Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan among those the Gunners boss wants to ship out.

Emery is also said to be keen to sell Mohamed Elneny and Shkodran Mustafi and finally offload Carl Jenkinson.

The Sun also say Arsenal want Everton’s on-loan Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, who has also been linked with Tottenham.

Chelsea will restart contract talks with Callum Hudson-Odoi and will face a decision on whether to sell him if he will not sign a new deal, the Mail say.
