Paper round-up: West Ham could go for Uruguay star as Arnautovic’s replacement

West Ham are considering activating a release clause in the contract of Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez, the Daily Express say.

The Uruguay international can reportedly leave the Spanish club for £44m and the Express say West Ham sent representatives to Vigo this week to see if a move could be on.

Gomez has been touted as a possible replacement for Marko Arnautovic, who looks set to leave the London Stadium.

The Guardian reports that Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande have offered £35.2m for Arnautovic.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will make a move for Braga forward Francisco Trincao, the Daily Mirror believe.

The story is based on Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claiming that Juventus, who have been linked with the Portuguese 19-year-old, face competition from the Gunners.

Trincao, who can play through the middle or out wide, is yet to make a first-team appearance for Braga.

The Express say James Rodriguez is set to stay at Bayern Munich rather than join Arsenal, who have been linked with him this week.

According to The Sun, Gonzalo Higuain is set to complete his move to Chelsea, who face losing Callum Hudson-Odoi after the youngster was offered a contract worth £85,000 a week by Bayern Munich.

The Sun also say Everton are preparing a £40m bid for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
