Paper round-up: Mirror say Hammers and Everton both want Silva

West Ham and Everton are pursuing Marco Silva and are both also interested in Shakhtar Donetsk boss Paulo Fonseca, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Mirror declare that the Hammers face “a tug of war” with Everton over former Watford and Hull manager Silva.

He is said to be Everton’s first choice to replace Sam Allardyce, who is reportedly on his way out of Goodison Park.

The Mirror say he is also wanted by West Ham and that boss David Moyes is set to leave the London Stadium.

The newspaper also claim Everton had been keen on Fonseca but it looks as if he is stalling as he is also apparently on West Ham’s radar.

Meanwhile, the Guardian reports that Karren Brady is facing pressure to drop her newspaper column in the Sun.

It comes after she wrote that “malcontents and keyboard warriors” have undermined West Ham’s efforts to make improvements to the London Stadium.

Vice-chairman Brady has been repeatedly urged from within the club to end her association with the Sun, the Guardian say.

And Wilfried Zaha has insisted he has no plans to leave Crystal Palace, the Daily Express reports.

The winger has been linked with several clubs, including Tottenham and Chelsea.

But he said: “I have no plans on leaving. I’m enjoying my football, you can see how much I’m enjoying it.

“This is my home and there’s no reason for me to leave.”
