Brentford star shrugs off reports he could join Benrahma at West Ham

Brentford midfielder Josh Dasilva has shrugged off reports linking him with a possible move to West Ham

The England Under-21 international only signed a new contract with the Bees in October and insists he is focused on their promotion challenge – and tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final clash with Tottenham.

The Guardian recently reported that West Ham, who bought Said Benrahma from Brentford during the summer, are now showing an interest in Dasilva.

But Dasilva says the speculation will not affect him at all.

“You just carry on and focus on what I can deal with,” he told West London Sport.

“We are fourth in the league, in a semi-final and were two points from being automatically promoted last year.

“I am enjoying my football and it’s just about focusing on the next game, which is Tottenham. That is where I’m at.”

Bees head coach Thomas Frank recently insisted there is no chance of his best players leaving.

Frank told West London Sport: “I understand why Premier League clubs will approach, because we have some very good players.

“No players will leave us in January. That’s not an option. They enjoy playing for Brentford and we are enjoying the journey.

“None of the players want to leave us and we definitely don’t want to let them go.”
