West Ham unable to agree terms with PSG’s Pastore

Talks between West Ham and Javier Pastore have stalled because of the player’s wage demands.

The Hammers are keen to bring in Argentine midfielder Pastore, having made an approach to Paris St-Germain.

He is well liked by recently-appointed Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini, who wants to persuade him to move to London.

However, a deal currently looks unlikely.

PSG are open to offers for the 28-year-old as they need to cut costs in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. It is thought that Pastore would cost around £18m if personal terms can be agreed.

Meanwhile, Ryan Fredericks is close to completing a move to West Ham from Fulham.

The right-back, who is out of contract, played a key role in Fulham’s promotion-winning campaign.

He has been offered a new deal but is set to leave despite the play-off triumph which secured a return to the top flight for Fulham after a four-year absence.

Fredericks, who started his career at Tottenham and made his senior debut during a loan spell at Brentford, joined Fulham from Bristol City in 2015.

He has made 114 appearances for the Whites, with 48 of them coming last season.
