Angelo Ogbonna insists the West Ham squad has the character and the ability to move away from the bottom three, starting with next weekend’s game at Liverpool.
The Hammers were beaten 5-1 at home by Arsenal on Saturday and are now without a win in five Premier League games.
There has even been speculation that boss Slaven Bilic could be on his way out, although supporters have been quick to support him on Twitter.
Defender Ogbonna believes one victory can revive the club’s fortunes and is targeting a win at Anfield.
“I believe we can turn this around,” Ogbonna told West Ham’s website.
“I can keep talking about it but we have to show it on the pitch. We have crucial games coming up now. The table is so tight and we know that we need victories.
“Liverpool will not be easy, but we have to be confident. It is one game and we have to fight, work hard and show character to get back to winning ways.
“We know that we can find a good performance. We played so well against Chelsea [in the EFL Cup], we were solid, we ran for each other, and we must find that again.”
