Brentford have joined the race to sign Aaron Hickey.
West Ham are among clubs to have been linked with the Scottish left-back, 19, as were Aston Villa prior to their signing of Lucas Digne.
He joined Italian side Bologna from Hearts in September 2020 and could now be on his way to the Premier League – and possibly to London.
West London Sport reports that Brentford are looking to snap him up.
The Bees want to sign a left-sided player during this month’s transfer window because of a lack of cover for Rico Henry, who was recently out injured.
Hickey can also operate in midfield or on the right, so would offer a number of different options.
Meanwhile, Brentford have held talks with Christian Eriksen with a view to signing the former Tottenham star on a contract to the end of the season.
Eriksen, 29, had his contract cancelled by Inter Milan last month after being told he could not play in Serie after being fitted with a pacemaker.
It would not prevent him from playing in the Premier League – and Brentford are among several clubs to have shown an interest.
Eriksen had the pacemaker fitted after suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark against Finland at Euro 2020 last June.
He has not played since then and is looking for a new club.
