Slaven Bilic has been sacked as West Ham manager.

The club confirmed on Monday morning that it has parted company with Bilic, who was widely expected to lose his job after the Hammers’ disappointing season continued with a heavy home defeat to Liverpool.

Members of Bilic’s coaching staff, including popular former West Ham player Julian Dicks, have also left the club.

Dicks has departed along with Nikola Jurcevic, Edin Terzic and Miljenko Rak.

It comes amid reports that former Manchester United, Everton and Sunderland manager David Moyes is set to take over at the London Stadium and has been told he can bring his own staff in.

Bilic, himself a popular figure among fans from his own time as a Hammers player, was appointed in the summer of 2015.

A club statement read: “West Ham United can confirm that Slaven Bilic has today left his position with the club.

“The chairmen and board of West Ham United would like to place on record their thanks and gratitude to Slaven and his team for their services over the past two-and-a-half years, but believe a change is now necessary in order for the club to move forward positively and in line with their ambition.

“West Ham United can confirm that Bilic’s coaching assistants Nikola Jurcevic, Edin Terzic, Julian Dicks and Miljenko Rak have also left the club with immediate effect.

“The club’s search for a new manager to take West Ham United forward is underway and an announcement regarding Bilic’s successor is expected to be made over the coming days.”
