Bilic refuses to comment on future

Slaven Bilic has refused to talk about his future amid speculation that he could be replaced as West Ham manager.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Friday’s game against Tottenham, Bilic was also reluctant to discuss possible transfer targets.

The Hammers have been linked with a host of players, including several strikers, ahead of the summer transfer window.

“It’s not the time to talk about my situation. It’s the time to talk about the club. I’m very calm and focused on the game,” Bilic said.

“It’s not the time to talk about transfers. We are talking about targets with the staff and the board, but not in public.”

West Ham will have the chance to put a serious dent in second-placed Spurs’ title hopes.

A win for Tottenham at the London Stadium would move them to within a point of leaders Chelsea, who play Middlesbrough on Monday.

Bilic said:”Spurs are in form, but they’ve been in form for two months. We are positive, four unbeaten and three clean sheets in four games.

“I have nothing but praise for them. When I watch them I wonder how Chelsea made that gap, but they had two periods without Harry Kane.

“Yes, they are electric, with confidence, pace, passing and changing positions and everything, but our form also improved.

“Spurs are very versatile. Sometimes you know where the ball is going but you can’t stop it because of the quality.”
