West Ham boss Slaven Bilic says there could be more incomings and outgoings at the London Stadium before the transfer window closes.
The Hammers are looking to sign midfielder William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon and talks with the Portuguese club over a possible deal are ongoing.
January signing Robert Snodgrass could move on if an offer for the Scotland international comes in – and Bilic says he would be keen to sign a replacement if any of his squad leaves.
“We are still waiting. We’re going to see what will happen in the last week of the transfer window,” Bilic said at a news conference on Tuesday.
“If someone’s going to leave somebody might come in. There’s a week in front of us and like most clubs we are ready to do something both ways if something good comes.
“I’m happy with the squad. I’ve said I’d like one more and if someone leaves I would like someone. We don’t have a very thick squad. If someone leaves we have to be ready.”
But Bilic has dismissed reports linking West Ham striker Andy Carroll with a return to his former club Newcastle.
Bilic said: “He’s always a very interesting character to be in the papers for whatever reason. You have to fill the papers.”
