Paper round-up: Hammers linked with Juve striker Mandzukic

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic is a target for West Ham, The Sun say.

It is claimed that Hammers scouts recently watched the Croatia international in action against Northern Ireland.

Mandzukic, 30, previously played under Slaven Bilic for the national team and the West Ham manager is said to be keen to be reunited with him.

Bilic would like to bolster his attack in January and the club are expected to offload Simone Zaha after the Italy forward failed to impress since being signed on loan.

Mandzukic has two-and-a-half years left on his Juve contract and could cost £18m, The Sun say.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star have picked up on reports in the Italian media claiming that Chelsea and Arsenal are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in Atalanta defender Mattia Caldara.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus are also said to be keen on the 22-year-old defender.

Once again there is speculation that Dominic Solanke could leave Chelsea.

The Sun say several Premier League clubs are interested in the 19-year-old forward, with contract talks having apparently stalled.

And the Daily Mail say Chelsea will fight to keep coach Steve Holland if, as expected, Gareth Southgate is confirmed as England manager.

Holland, who has been at Stamford Bridge since 2009, has been assistant boss during Southgate’s spell in interim charge.
