Paper round-up: West Ham linked with Smalling

West Ham want Manchester United’s England defender Chris Smalling, according to The Sun.

West Bromwich Albion are also said to be interested in Smalling amid speculation over his future.

There have been reports that United boss Jose Mourinho could be willing to sell Smalling this summer.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror claim Manchester City players are convinced both Alexis Sanchez and Kyle Walker are heading for the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal forward Sanchez and Tottenham’s England defender Walker have both been linked with City amid speculation over their futures.

The Mirror say Spurs want £50m for Walker, who has been tipped to leave the club this summer after falling out of favour with boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Chelsea have also been linked with him along with Bayern Munich, but it is claimed that the former Sheffield United man wants to return north.

The Daily Star reckon Bayern Munich are willing to pay £50m for Sanchez and that his agent is holding talks with the German club.

And Liverpool are leading a race to sign Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, The Sun say.

It comes amid continued speculation over the future of the England international, whose representatives have been in talks over a new contract for him.

The Sun say Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp “is ready to test Arsenal’s resolve” and that the Reds bidding for Oxlade-Chamberlain “is likely to bring other would-be bidders out into the open.”
