West Ham will look to sign Jack Wilshere on loan from Arsenal if they are unable to sign William Carvhalo, according to The Sun.
The Hammers have been in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon in an attempt to sign Portugal midfielder Carvalho ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
And The Sun say there is likely to be a move for Wilshere if a deal for Carvhalo cannot be agreed.
It would apparently be a season-long loan with a view to a possible permanent move in the summer, when Wilshere’s Arsenal contract is due to expire.
The Sun also claim Tottenham could try to beat Chelsea to the signing of Fernando Llorente.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be considering a move for the Swansea man as a back-up striker for Harry Kane.
It follows reports that Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with Swansea for the Spanish target man to move to Stamford Bridge for around £14m.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Chelsea are furious after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain snubbed a move to the Bridge in favour of Liverpool.
The Blues agreed a deal to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal but he stalled until Liverpool came in with an offer.
The Mirror declare that Chelsea feel they have “been played” and that Arsenal were reluctant to sell to Liverpool because of bad blood between the clubs stemming from the Gunners’ attempt to sign Luis Suarez from the Reds in 2013.
