Paper round-up: Spurs linked with Maguire

Tottenham want to sign Hull City defender Harry Maguire, the Sunday People claim.

It is claimed that Spurs are “locked in a £22m tug of war” with Everton to sign Maguire, 24, following Hull’s relegation from the Premier League.

Maguire has impressed for the Tigers this season and has been tipped to move during the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, West Ham want Ross Barkley and are looking sign goalkeeper Jordan Pickford by offering Adrian to Sunderland as part of the deal, reports claim.

The Daily Star Sunday say it has been told the Hammers are targeting Everton’s England midfielder Barkley, who has also been linked with Spurs and Chelsea, and are willing to pay him £140,000 a week, which is reportedly double his current wages.

And The Sun on Sunday say Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is happy to let Adrian go and is keen to land Pickford in a deal which would apparently be worth around £25m.

‘A source at Sunderland’ is quoted as saying: “Jordan is wanted by a whole host of clubs. Everton have showed the most interest but West Ham have now made enquiries too.

“And it has been proposed that Adrian can come in the opposite direction to replace Jordan.”

The Sun on Sunday reckon West Ham would need to pay around £17m in cash, with Adrian valued at around £8m.

Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal all want Celtic’s former Fulham forward Moussa Dembele but face competition from AC Milan, the Sunday Express claim.

Manchester City are set to make a £40m bid for Tottenham defender Kyle Walker this week, The Sun on Sunday say.

The Sun also say Marseille are looking to sign Laurent Koscielny from Arsenal.
