Spurs reportedly reject Palace’s Davies bid

Tottenham have rejected an £8m bid from Crystal Palace for Ben Davies, the Sunday People say.

It comes after Wales international Davies, who has been kept out of the Spurs side by Danny Rose, was linked with a move to Selhurst Park.

Palace manager Sam Allardyce is reported to have targeted Davies after being unable to land Sunderland’s Patrick van Aanholt.

The People say Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy were unwilling to sell Davies, particularly in light of the injury to Jan Vertonghen.

Belgian defender Vertonghen is expected to be sidelined for two months after suffering ankle ligament damage during the recent 4-0 win at home to West Bromwich Albion.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Express have again declared that Real Madrid are determined to sign Tottenham star Dele Alli.

Real are apparently planning to offer £50m for Alli, who has also been linked with Paris St-Germain.

And Italian newspaper La Repubblica have claimed that Spurs are among the clubs interested in Stefan de Vrij.

The Lazio centre-back has been touted for a move to the Premier League numerous times during the last year or so and was previously linked with Chelsea.

Spurs and Manchester United are looking to sign the Netherlands international, it is claimed.

Some reports in Italy have suggested Lazio would want as much as £50m for him.
