Paper round-up: Spurs again linked with Shaw

Tottenham are again being linked with Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw and a potential swap deal involving Danny Rose.

It comes after United boss Jose Mourinho substituted Shaw and again publicly criticised him following an FA Cup win against Brighton.

The Daily Star say Spurs and Chelsea want Shaw and that there is also interest from Leicester and his former club Southampton.

With Spurs’ Danny Rose having been linked with a summer move to United, the Star suggest there could be an exchange deal – apparently worth £50m – on the cards.

The Daily Telegraph say some United players believe Shaw is being “bullied” by Mourinho, while The Times reports that the player is now determined to leave at the end of the season because of the manager’s criticism.

Having substituted Shaw at half-time, Mourinho said: “I wanted to defend better. I wanted my defensive line to be more solid.

“I want more personality because many times I felt that Nemanja Matic was an island of personality, desire, and control surrounded by a lack of personality, a lack of class, and a lack of desire.”

The Sun, meanwhile, say Shaw and Mourinho were involved in a training-ground bust-up ahead of the Brighton game.
