Tottenham are the latest club to be linked with Liverpool’s England striker Daniel Sturridge.
West Ham were recently tipped to move for the former Chelsea man amid speculation that he could leave Anfield when the transfer window reopens in January.
Sturridge has said that he is prepared to fight for his place at Liverpool but there continue to be reports that he is unhappy about slipping down the pecking order at the Merseyside club.
And Bleacher Report claim Spurs looked at a potential deal to sign Sturridge during the summer and could move for him in January.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Jan Vertonghen will sign an improved contract at Spurs.
The newspaper reports that Vertonghen has agreed a new deal at White Hart Lane.
The Belgian defender’s current contract, reported to be worth £60,000 a week, is due to expire in 2018.
But the Mirror say Tottenham are no closer to agreeing new deals with Harry Kane and keeper Hugo Lloris.
There has recently been speculation about Kane’s future even though the England forward is under contract until 2020.
It was recently claimed that contract talks were put on hold and that this has alerted a number of clubs, including Chelsea.
The Mirror suggest no progress has been made with Kane and that Spurs and Lloris are “a million miles apart” in negotiations.
Lloris, whose contract expires in 2019, reportedly wants a significant pay rise.
Apparently no new talks are planned with the Frenchman until next summer.
