Paper round-up: Speculation over Barkley, Bellerin and Costa

Tottenham are ready to make a move for Ross Barkley but are unwilling to meet the apparent asking price, The Sun claim.

Everton are said to be demanding £50m for the England international, who has been offered a new contract at Goodison Park.

The Sun suggest Spurs are prepared to make an offer for the 23-year-old and that he is likely to be sold this summer.

The Daily Mirror say Spurs are ready to sell Kevin Wimmer and that boss Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing Swansea’s Alfie Mawson and Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson.

Meanwhile, Hector Bellerin has asked to leave Arsenal but the request has been rejected by boss Arsene Wenger, according to The Sun.

It comes amid reports that Barcelona are keen to sign the Gunners right-back.

Manchester City will resist any attempt by West Ham to sign England goalkeeper Joe Hart on loan, the Daily Mail say.

The Hammers and Newcastle are both reported to be keen on Hart, but the Mail say City believe both clubs have the money to buy him and are looking for £18m.

Hart, 30, spent last season on loan at Torino after being told he was not in City boss Pep Guardiola’s plans.

Atletico Madrid are offering Chelsea £22m for Diego Costa, again according to the Mirror.

The Mirror say selling Costa back to his former club for that amount would cost Chelsea more than £50m given that it is less than a third of the £76m they were reportedly offered by Chinese Super League club Tianjian Quanjian.

It is also claimed that Atletico are so confident of signing him they have drawn up a training programme to keep him match fit while he is not playing games – the Spanish club’s transfer ban means he would not be able to play for them until January.

And The Sun have picked up on reports in Italy that Inter Milan have made an approach for Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.
