Tottenham and Chelsea have both been linked with a potential move for Manchester United’s England left-back Luke Shaw.
The Independent believe United manager Jose Mourinho has become frustrated with Shaw’s lack of progress and that the club are prepared to listen to offers for the player this summer.
The newspaper adds that Spurs and the Blues have been earmarked as potential buyers.
The Independent suggest Tottenham’s possible interest will depend on the future of Danny Rose.
There has been speculation about Rose’s future in recent months – Chelsea were linked with him during the summer transfer window and more recently there have been reports that Manchester City want to sign him.
It has been claimed that City are considering tabling bids for both Rose and his Tottenham team-mate Kyle Walker.
The Independent adds that Shaw has not been completely written off and could yet turn his situation around at Old Trafford.
Some senior United players have been speaking to privately with the 21-year-old in order to try to help him, it is claimed.
Shaw, signed from Southampton in the summer of 2014, has made just 13 appearances for United this season and has not featured in the Premier League since October.
