Paper round-up: Spurs tipped to move for Porto defender

Tottenham hope to tie up a deal to sign Porto defender Ricardo Pereira once Kyle Walker completes his move to Manchester City, The Times reports.

City are finalising the signing of Walker, who is set to leave Spurs in a deal worth more than £50m.

The Times say Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is looking to replace Walker with Pereira and that the 22-year-old will cost £22m. He has a buyout clause in his contract for that amount.

London Football News reported last month that Pereira was being lined up as a possible replacement for Walker – and that Tottenham could get him for less than £22m.

Meanwhile, The Sun declare that Pierre Emerick Aubameyang “is at the centre of a tug of war between Liverpool and Chelsea” and say both clubs have contacted the Borussia Dortmund striker’s representatives.

Liverpool’s former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be keen to sign the 28-year-old, who previously played under him at the German club.

The Sun say Liverpool’s owners are reluctant to meet the asking price or the player’s weekly wages demands, reported to be £65m and £180,000 respectively.

And Speculation continues over the future of Nemanja Matic.

The Express declare that the Chelsea midfielder is now wanted by Arsenal and that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been offered to the Blues by the Gunners.

Manchester United’s former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to sign Matic, while the Daily Mail say Juventus are considering making a move for him.
