Paper round-up: Spurs linked with Silva

The Sun have picked up on claims that Tottenham have made a £26m bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva after having a previous offer turned down.

It come after Portuguese newspaper A Bolo claimed that Spurs had a £17.5m bid for Silva rejected and returned with an offer almost £9m higher.

Sporting apparently want around £30m for the Portugal midfielder, who has been linked with several clubs in recent months.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Josh King is unsure about quitting Bournemouth to join Tottenham.

The newspaper has linked King, 25, with a move to Spurs for some time but now say he does not want to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Everton are also said to be interested in the Norwegian, who scored 16 goals for Bournemouth last season.

The Mirror say Everton boss Ronald Koeman has targeted King because Romelu Lukaku wants to leave the Merseyside club and return to Chelsea.

Arsenal have again been tipped to move for Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez.

It comes amid reports that Monaco are determined to keep Thomas Lemar, who had been tipped to move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Mirror say Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is ready to pursue a deal for Mahrez as Monaco insist they want to keep Lemar.

And, again according to the Mirror, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is struggling to land any of what the newspaper say are his three major transfer targets.

They are Roma’s Germany defender Antonio Rudiger as well as Juventus duo Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro.

Rudiger and Sandro were tipped to join Chelsea but there are now reports that Manchester City are targeting Rudiger and that Juventus are determined to keep Sandro.

Bonucci has previously played under Conte for Juve and Italy and has been repeatedly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but he signed a new contract in December and the Turin club are said to be unwilling to let him go.
