Liverpool’s refusal to sell Philippe Coutinho has led Barcelona to turn their attention to Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to The Independent.

Coutinho has been touted as a replacement for Neymar at Barcelona but Liverpool insist they will not allow him to leave Anfield.

The Independent say Barca were ready for that and have already begun the process of trying to prise Eriksen away from Spurs.

The newspaper believes intermediaries have already made contact in an attempt to land the Danish midfielder.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that Spurs are in talks to sign Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez for £35m.

Tottenham have made an approach to Celta Vigo for midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop, according to the Daily Mail, but apparently face competition from French side Lyon.

The Daily Telegraph say Chelsea recently had a £15m bid for Danny Drinkwater rejected by Leicester and that he is in the dark over his future because the Blues have not returned with another offer. Leicester reportedly value him at £30m and do not want to sell.

Drinkwater is said to be keen on the move but the Telegraph believe Chelsea are looking at alternative midfield signings.

And West Ham are keen for goalkeeper Adrian to sign a new contract despite the recent arrival of Joe Hart, according to The Sun.
