Sanchez reportedly shunned as speculation over Wenger’s future continues

Alexis Sanchez has been shunned by his Arsenal team-mates, the Sunday Mirror say.

It is claimed that the Gunners squad are unhappy with the Chilean, who has reportedly fallen out with Arsene Wenger.

Manager Wenger is said to have questioned Sanchez’s attitude – and the Sunday Mirror say his players agree with him.

The newspaper quotes ‘a dressing room source’ as saying: “Alexis is being moody and disruptive and it’s getting to the rest of the squad.

“The players are getting fed up with it. If it came to a straight choice between which side to choose, there is no doubt they would back the manager.”

The story comes amid speculation over the futures of Sanchez, whose Arsenal deal ends in 2018, and Wenger, whose contract expires this summer.

The Mail on Sunday suggest that Arsenal’s recent Champions League hammering by Bayern Munich, far from edging Wenger towards the exit door, has made him and the club’s hierarchy even more determined that he should stay.

The Mail also say Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be offered a new deal by Arsenal, despite reports suggesting he might want to leave.

But Kieran Gibbs is expected to leave, the Mail say, with Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy touted as his replacement.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror reckon Arsenal’s board have told Wenger to make a decision on his future by the start of next month.
