Could Crouch and Kranjcar rejoin Redknapp?

Harry Redknapp has agreed a one-year contract to stay at Birmingham City – and bookmakers reckon he could be joined at St Andrews by two of his former players.

East Londoner Redknapp, who played for and managed West Ham and has also managed Tottenham and QPR, kept Birmingham in the Championship and is now expected to strengthen their squad during the summer.

Cue jokes that Niko Kranjcar and Peter Crouch are set to link up with their old boss once again. Well, punters seem to think they will.

BetVictor have seen a flurry of bets placed on both players joining the Blues, who are 6/1 favourites to sign former Stoke City’s Ealing-raised former QPR man Crouch, 36, who was with Redknapp at Portsmouth and Tottenham.

And Krancjar, who played under Redknapp at QPR as well as Pompey and Spurs, is now as short as 2/1 to link up with him again.

Kranjcar, 32, was troubled by a hamstring problem during his time at Loftus Road and managed just four league starts for Glasgow Rangers last season.

BetVictor spokesman Jack Milner said: “Kranjcar has been supported into 2/1 from 3s to re-join old pal Harry Redknapp at St Andrews, having played for him at Portsmouth, Spurs and QPR, whilst BetVictor make Birmingham City the 6/1 market leaders to sign Peter Crouch before the close of this year’s summer transfer Window.”

To sign Peter Crouch before 3 September 2017:

Birmingham 6/1
Portsmouth 12/1
Brentford 12/1
QPR 14/1
16/1 Bar
