Paper round-up: Tottenham reportedly want Germany defender

Tottenham want Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter, according to The Independent.

The newspaper say Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to sign the 23-year-old Germany international but faces competition from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.

Ginter, who can also play in midfield, is reportedly set to hold talks with Dortmund boss Peter Bosz about his future at The Independent say he could be available for £15m.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror say Tottenham have raised their asking price for Kyle Walker, potentially pricing him out of a move to Manchester City.

Walker had been tipped to move to City for £40m but the Mirror now say Spurs want £60m for the England defender, who only signed a new five-year contract last September.

City are said to be willing to double his current wages, reportedly £75,000 a week, but the Mirror claim Liverpool’s apparent willingness to pay Southampton £60m for Virgil van Dijk has led Tottenham to reassess Walker’s market value.

Chelsea are interested in signing Riyad Mahrez, the Daily Telegraph say.

It is claimed that Blues boss Antonio Conte believes Mahrez, who is keen to leave Leicester City, could provide useful cover for Eden Hazard.

The Telegraph say Chelsea are monitoring Mahrez and Juventus left-back Alex Sandro ahead of possible moves.

And The Sun claim Chelsea could look to sign Leonardo Bonucci by offering Nemanja Matic as part of an exchange deal.

Defender Bonucci has been linked with Chelsea for some time, while Juve are reportedly keen to sign Matic.

The Sun say Chelsea could offer the Italian club £48m plus Matic in a bid to land Bonucci.
