West Ham monitoring Jenkinson, Star say

The Daily Star say West Ham are keeping tabs on Carl Jenkinson following his return from a knee injury and could look to re-sign him from Arsenal.

Jenkinson featured in the Gunners’ 3-2 win against Ludogorets Razgrad in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, replacing Hector Bellerin.

His loan spell at West Ham last season was cut short in January when he suffered the injury.

And the Star reckon Hammers boss Slaven Bilic will continue to monitor the 24-year-old right-back.

A “West Ham source” is quoted by the newspaper as saying: “Carl’s injury was a real shame. He was doing well at the club and we liked him. Would we have tried to sign him? Probably.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Chelsea are among a number of Premier League clubs chasing Scottish 15-year-old Billy Gilmour, according to the Daily Mirror.

Manchester City and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the Glasgow Rangers youngster, who has been touted as Scotland’s best prospect for many years.

And Sky say Charlton are looking to sign Hartlepool United winger Nathan Thomas for around £750,000 but face competition from several clubs, including QPR.
