Paper round-up: City and United linked with keeper Trott

Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in West Ham goalkeeper Nathan Trott, it’s claimed.

The Mirror say both Manchester clubs and German outfit RB Leipzig are showing an interest in the 19-year-old and that West Ham “are facing a battle to secure his long-term future” at the London Stadium.

It comes as Trott’s representatives are in negotiations with West Ham over a new contract for the youngster.

Meanwhile, Tottenham and Arsenal are both being linked with Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.

After the Gunners were recently said to be keen on Bailly, the Daily Star claim Spurs have joined their north London rivals in a battle to sign him.

It is claimed that he could push for a move from Old Trafford but that United want at least the £30m he cost them from Villarreal in 2016.

The Star also suggest Spurs could swap him for Toby Alderweireld, who has been linked with United.

There continues to be speculation over the future of Aaron Ramsey.

The Wales midfielder’s Arsenal contract expires at the end of the season and talks over a new deal have been scrapped.

Juventus are among the clubs to have long been linked with Ramsey, as are Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, claiming an ‘exclusive’, the Daily Mail declare that Juventus have “entered the chase” to sign Ramsey.

The newspaper say Juve have an advantage over the English clubs that want him because the Italian outfit will be able to discuss personal terms with him in January and possibly sign him on a pre-contract agreement.

The Mail also say Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek could represent England in next year’s Under-21 European Championship.

And, according to The Sun, Chelsea want to combat anti-Semitism at Stamford Bridge by sending fans on educational trips to Auschwitz rather than handing out bans.
