West Ham are interested in bringing Dimitri Payet back to the club despite his acrimonious departure 18 months ago, The Daily Mirror say.
West Ham have reportedly been offered a chance to re-sign the 31-year-old, who walked out on them to join Marseille.
And the Mirror say recently-appointed Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is keen to do so.
The Mirror also say Payet’s wages could be a sticking point and that West Ham’s owners have reservations about signing the Frenchman and Jack Wilshere but are prepared to back the manager.
The Times reports that the out-of-contract Wilshere, who recently left Arsenal, has begun a medical ahead of his expected move to West Ham.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are again being linked with Wilfried Zaha, this time amid reports he has rejected the offer of a new contract at Crystal Palace.
The Sun say Zaha has turned down a new deal, worth £120,000 a week, and that Everton and German club Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the winger.
The newspaper say Palace are set to make Zaha another offer in a bid to secure his long-term future at Selhurst Park.
And the Daily Telegraph believe Eric Dier could start for England in place of his Tottenham team-mate Dele Alli in today’s World Cup quarter-final against Sweden.
