Paper round-up: Lascelles keen to stay at Newcastle – Times

Jamaal Lascelles has no intention of leaving Newcastle this summer, The Times reports.

West Ham recently had a bid for the defender rejected and he has been linked with a number of other clubs, including Chelsea.

The Times say Lascelles is happy at Newcastle under boss Rafael Benitez and is not looking to leave.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror reports that Tottenham forward Son Heung-min is set to miss the first four games of the Premier League season after being called up to the South Korea squad for the Asian Games

Mauricio Pochettino does not have to release Son as it is not an official FIFA tournament in Indonesia, but the Spurs boss apparently has no plans to stand in his way.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the futures of Danny Welbeck and David Ospina are in doubt as new Arsenal boss Unai Emery prepares to trim his squad.

Emery has spent around £70m on five major signings, including the arrival of goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen, which seemingly means that a keeper could be on the way out.

The Telegraph say Ospina is more likely to go than Petr Cech and that forward Welbeck, who is now in the final year of his contract, faces a struggle for first-team football and could move on.

And new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will look to persuade Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, Willian and N’Golo Kante to stay at the club, The Sun say.

The Sun claim Sarri will contact the quartet this week in what the newspaper calls “a desperate charm offensive” to prevent an “exodus” of the Blues’ top stars.
