Sunday paper round-up: United reportedly looking at alternatives to Alderweireld

The Sunday Express say Manchester United remain interested in Toby Alderweireld but are reluctant to pay the asking price and are looking at other possible options.

Tottenham reportedly want around £60m for the Belgian central defender, who had been widely tipped to join United this summer.

The Sunday Express say United believe they might be able to get better value for money elsewhere, with the newspaper touting Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane and Seville’s Clement Lenglet as other potential signings.

West Ham and Crystal Palace remain among the clubs being linked with Jack Wilshere.

The out-of-contract midfielder is set to leave Arsenal and there has been much speculation about where he will be playing his football next season.

The Sun on Sunday say Juventus have joined the race to sign Wilshere and that he is also wanted by Palace, the Hammers and Wolves.

The Sunday Mirror, meanwhile, claim new Everton boss Marco Silva wants to sign the England international.

Silva is said to be keen to snap up Wilshere along with Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

And The Mail on Sunday say Chelsea could look to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic in an exchange deal involving striker Alvaro Morata, who is apparently wanted by the German club.
