Fenerbahce linked with Arsenal’s Cazorla

Fenerbahce are planning a move for Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla, the Turkish Football website claims.

Cazorla, 32, has been out injured since October and the Gunners are taking up an option to extend his contract at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, it has been claimed that Fenerbahce representatives have been approached about a potential deal to sign the Spaniard.

Meanwhile, former Spain star Xavi believes Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will consider a move for Jack Wilshere in the summer.

The England midfielder, currently on a season-long loan at Bournemouth from Arsenal, has been linked with City amid speculation over his long-term future.

And Xavi, who played under Guardiola at Barcelona, thinks his former boss would be tempted to sign Wilshere if Arsenal are willing to let him go.

Wilshere impressed for Arsenal against Guardiola’s Barca in a Champions League tie in 2011.

Xavi, who played in both legs, told Fox Latin America that Guardiola has been a fan of the player ever since.

“I know that Pep has always had a lot of respect for Wilshere. He impressed so many of the Barcelona team when we played Arsenal in 2011,” he said.

“He impressed me a lot that night. I know he also did Pep and it will be a player that he would have been following ever since. We have talked about him – it was not a performance you forget easily.

“At the moment he seems to be doing well with his fitness. And if there is a chance to sign him in the summer, I am sure Pep will give it real consideration.”
