Offer for QPR youngster rejected

Everton have had an offer for teenage winger Josh Bowler rejected by QPR.

West London Sport reported on Tuesday morning that Rangers had turned down an offer from the Merseyside club, who were willing to pay them up to £3m.

The Mirror have since suggested that Everton are ready to table an improved bid for the 18-year-old winger, who has made one first-team appearance so far.

And Teamtalk.com have claimed that Arsenal are also interested in the youngster and have made an approach along with Manchester City.

Bowler came to the attention of Premier League clubs with some impressive performances for QPR at Under-18 and Under-23 level.

He has been with the R’s for four years, having joined them after being released by their west London neighbours Fulham in 2013.

Bowler, who featured in an FA Youth Cup tie against Tottenham last season, is under contract until 2018.

He signed an 18-month deal – his first professional contract – earlier this year.

He made his senior debut when he came on as a substitute for QPR against Norwich City on the final day of the season.

Bowler has been tipped to make more first-team appearances for Ian Holloway’s side next term, but there is now speculation over his future at the club.
