Arsenal as well as Tottenham are interested in Everton’s Ross Barkley, according to the Evening Standard.
Tottenham have long been linked with the 23-year-old England international, as have Chelsea.
There have been reports that Everton want £50m for Barkley and that he would want to be made Spurs’ highest-paid player in order to join them.
The Standard say Arsenal are monitoring Barkley, who has a year remaining on his contract at Goodison Park and has been tipped to move after snubbing a new deal.
The Daily Mail say Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring developments ahead of a possible move for Barkley later in the transfer window.
Barkley has not travelled with the rest of the Everton squad for their pre-season friendlies in Holland and Belgium due to a groin injury.
The Standard also say Spurs are interested in Leicester City forward Riyad Mahrez and have asked the Foxes to be kept informed of developments.
The Algerian wants to leave Leicester this summer but Tottenham are said to be only willing to discuss a potential deal if the asking price – reported to be close to £50m – is lowered.
Arsenal have been tipped to move for Mahrez, who scored in a friendly against West Bromwich Albion earlier this week.
