Paper round-up: Arsenal tipped to sign youngster, speculation over Bilic’s future

Arsenal are set to offer a contract to Chilean teenager Marcelo Allende, The Sun reports.

The midfielder, who recently turned 18, currently plays for Deportes Santa Cruz in Chile’s third tier and has been on trial with the Gunners.

The Sun say Arsenal have been impressed and have seen enough to offer him a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror have picked up on reports in Turkey claiming that Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is keen on a move Fenerbahce.

The Turkish club have been consistently linked with Ospina and it is claimed that he is interested in signing for them at the end of the season.

And there continues to be speculation over the future of West Ham manager Slaven Bilic.

The Mirror say Bilic is fighting to save his job after five successive league defeats which have left the Hammers five points above the relegation zone.

The Sun say he will not be sacked if his team lose to Swansea today but suggest he is under serious pressure.

In her column for the newspaper, vice-chairman Karren Brady wrote: “I would be lying if I denied there is growing anxiety over West Ham’s slide — it is two months since we won and haven’t scored a point in five matches.

“We fully support Slaven and expect him to turn it around — but at moments like this we have to understand that football, totally, is a results business.”
