Arsenal believe they have made a breakthrough in contract talks with Mesut Ozil, according to The Sun.

Ozil is reported to have indicated that he is preparing to accept the club’s offer of a new deal, which is said to be worth £225,000 a week.

It is claimed that the German’s representatives have been trying to find him another club but none have been willing to match Arsenal’s offer.

There has been speculation over the futures of Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as they are all in the final year of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium.

The Daily Mail say Arsenal have offered Sanchez £300,000 a week, which would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph say West Ham have offered £27.1m for Sporting Lisbon and Portugal midfielder William Carvalho.

And there are reports that Tottenham players could look to leave following an explosive interview with The Sun by Danny Rose suggesting that he could earn more money elsewhere.

The Daily Mail declare that Spurs stars “are lining up to leave because of the club’s rigid pay structure” imposed by chairman Daniel Levy.

The Daily Mirror say Levy is facing a crisis, with a number of players unhappy over pay.

The Sun say Rose was applauded by his team-mates for his comments.
