Paper round-up: Arsenal reportedly chasing Ivory Coast star

Arsenal are among a number of clubs interested in Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, the Daily Mirror say.

Those other clubs are said to include Everton as well as Barcelona and Sevilla.

The Mirror say Ivory Coast international Pepe, who has scored five goals in eight games, is valued at £30m.

Meanwhile, The Times reports that West Ham youngster Declan Rice has turned down another call-up from the Republic of Ireland.

It comes as England hope the London-born player will switch his international allegiance to the country of his birth.

Rice has only played in friendlies for Ireland, meaning he is still eligible to play for England.

The Times say Rice is planning an extended break from international football to prioritise his club future and will not be selected by England for their games against Croatia and Spain.

And Danny Drinkwater is in no rush to leave Chelsea even though he is not in boss Maurizio Sarri’s plans, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The midfielder was tipped to leave during the summer transfer window and was linked with several clubs, but stayed put.

The Telegraph say Drinkwater earns around £100,000 a week and that Chelsea would find it difficult to find another club willing to match his wages.

Drinkwater is said to be willing to wait until the end of the season if the right move does not come up when the transfer window reopens in January.
