Levy reportedly concerned about Chelsea situation

Daniel Levy is reportedly concerned that the situation at Chelsea could affect any future sale of Tottenham.

Chelsea are up for sale in the wake of Roman Abramovich agreeing to relinquish control of the club.

According to the Mail, Spurs chairman Levy believes a cut-price sale of Chelsea could reduce his club’s market value.

The newspaper reports that Tottenham have “effectively been on the market for years without anyone coming close to meeting the asking price” and that Levy is concerned that the asking price would be even less likely to be met if Chelsea can be snapped up on the cheap.

Two of the reported bidders for Chelsea, Jonathan Goldstein and Todd Boehly, have both previously been linked with an attempted takeover of Spurs. They are now believed to be part of a consortium hoping to take over at Stamford Bridge.

A number of interested parties submitted formal offers for Chelsea before the recent deadline and Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel is hoping that a takeover will happen sooner rather than later.

Speaking to the BBC after Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final win at Middlesbrough, Tuchel said: “I hope that the process will go through as soon as possible to clear the situation, to calm the situation and give everybody an outlook to the nearer future. This is what we are hoping for.”
