Tottenham v Chelsea: Big boost for Spurs but Blues have injury doubts

Jan Vertonghen will return to Tottenham contention for the Premier League clash with Chelsea.

The Belgium defender has been out for the last nine games with a hamstring injury and could be involved at Wembley, with Danny Rose (groin) nearing a return of his own.

Davinson Sanchez (hamstring), Kieran Trippier (groin) and Mousa Dembele (ankle) remain out.

Provisional squad: Lloris, Gazzaniga, Aurier, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Foyth, Walker-Peters, Moura, Dier, Son, Alli, Kane, Eriksen, Sanchez, Winks, Lamela, Wanyama, Davies, Sissoko, Llorente, Vorm.

Mateo Kovacic is expected to be in contention for Chelsea.

Croatia midfielder Kovacic is expected to shake off an ankle problem to come into considerations.

Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri has a number of undisclosed injury doubts following the international break.
